World Ergathlon ChampsThe University of Limerick played host to the first ever World Ergathlon Championships on Sunday 31st January. An ergathlon is an endurance event comprising of running and erging. The competition is a great motivation for individual athletes but also acts as a team building event. And it is highly entertaining for the spectators. Pictured is Ronan Long who, inspired by his older brother taking part in the event decided to row his own 2k and picked up a winning teeshirt for his troubles. On hand to present the prizes were Paul OConnell of Munster rugby and Sean Casey of the Irish rowing squad. Many thanks to all Club members who helped organise the event and who took part in the competition. more >>> |
